About this Smart Salon
Would you be more likely to act on your good intentions if you were presented with straightforward, tangible knowledge about the impact your help would make? It was on this premise that Charles Best, a social studies teacher in the Bronx, founded DonorsChoose.org in 2000.
Charles saw that kids and teachers needed a way to tap directly into people's desire to support better education in their own backyards. His idea worked and students have been benefitting ever since. In 2010, DonorsChoose.org had an incredible year, raising $30 million to fund everything from crayons to new curriculums.
DonorsChoose.org was listed in Fast Company's "Top 50 Most Innovative Companies" and Charles himself has been named one of the "40 under 40" top leaders in business by Fortune Magazine.
Over the last several years, Smart Design has been exploring and creating experiences that inspire people's good intentions for companies like Ford, OPOWER and EnergyHub. To understand more about how to encourage people's positive impact on the world, we're thrilled to have Charles join us for our latest Smart Salon. Drop by, meet Charles and we'll throw in a spectacular view up the Hudson for free!
We hope to see you there!
